William Kay Hinerman

William Kay Hinerman, 88, of Waynesburg, died Saturday, May 22, 2021.

He was born April 23, 1933, in Aleppo, a son of the late Albert Edward and Kathryn Ullom Hinerman.

Bill was a graduate of Center Township High School, class of 1951, and a graduate of Waynesburg College in 1960.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953 as a military police in Okinawa.

In 1959, he purchased Sexton’s Automotive and owned and operated the store now known as Hinerman’s Automotive, in Waynesburg.

Bill spent many hours flying from the Greene County Airport and hanging out with friends at Jerry Dorsey’s hanger. He enjoyed hunting and riding motorcycles. He was a member of the Free & Accepted Masons Masonic Lodge #153, Waynesburg; a life member of the National Rifle Association and Waynesburg Sportsman Club, where he served as a director, and the Greene County Airman’s Association.

On February 14, 1959, he married Patricia Webb, who died December 20, 1992.

Surviving are two sons, Edward L. (Vicki) Hinerman and Douglas (Elizabeth) Hinerman, both of Waynesburg; six grandchildren, Jared, Nicole, Nathan, Arran, Madelynne Hinerman and Ryan Wells; a great-grandson, Preston Wells.

Private services and interment are entrusted to the Behm Funeral Home, 182 W. High Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370. Donations in Bill’s memory may be made to SOAR of Greene County or the Greene County Humane Society. Condolences may be expressed at www.behmfh.com.
