John F. Rusinek

John F. Rusinek, 87, of Phoenix, Ariz., passed away peacefully Sunday, October 10, 2021, after a long battle with dementia.
He was born August 14, 1934, and grew up in Washington, one of nine children born to the late Anthony and Barbara Rusinek.
John attended Washington High School in his hometown or as he liked to call it “Wash High.” He moved to Phoenix, in his young 20s, where he met the love of his life, Sylvia. They were married in St. Thomas the Apostle Church and remained active members of the parish.
John proudly served in the United States Navy for four years. He was a devoted Steeler fan and an avid hunter.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; brothers, Joseph, Bruno, Stanley and Tony; sisters, Adele, JoAnn, Mary and Helen.
He is survived by his wife of over 62 years, Sylvia Chieva Rusinek; daughter, Lynda Lee Rusinek; son, John Michael (Toni); granddaughter, Rian; grandson, Jesse; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held October 29, with Military Honors at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
