John L. Milavec
John L. “Kip” Milavec, 84, of Peters Township, passed away Monday, November 1, 2021.
He was the beloved husband of Rita C. Williams Milavec; loving father of Gary (Jennifer) Milavec, Bruce (Laura) Milavec and Sheri (Michael) Fronczak; cherished Pappy of Michael Fronczak, Cortney (Timothy) Kline, Megan (Tyler) Kinn, Daniel (Courtney) Milavec, Jenna Milavec and Drew Milavec; great-grandfather of Maggie Mae Kline and Walker Kline; brother of Frank (the late Sandra) Milavec; brother-in-law of Everett Williams (the late Pat).
John proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. He was a 1955 graduate of Bridgeville High School and a retired employee of Universal Cyclops, later known as Dynamet, for 49 years.
John was an usher, an adult altar server and longtime member of St. Benedict the Abbot Church. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, motorcycle riding and gardening. He was a member of Ben’s Men, Finleyville Italian Gumba Society, Brownsville Sons of Italy and Sygan Slovene National Benefit Society (SNPJ) #6.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 4, in the Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, November 5, in St. Benedict the Abbot Church of St. John XXIII Parish. Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
