Edward M. Cipcic passed into perfect peace the evening of Saturday, October 20, 2021, in Ohio.

He was born September 21, 1932, in Glassport, a son of the late Matt and Mildred Skaro Cipcic.

He was a loving husband of 61 years to Mary Kathryn Yorko, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Ruth Eleanor (Keith) Higgs and Lisa (Thomas) Ulery; two grandsons, Stephen Ulery and Joshua Ulery; several nieces and nephews.

As a young man, Ed loved to participate in sports, playing football (achieving all state status), basketball, and baseball while attending Jefferson High School. Ed’s natural and learned athletic skill led to recruitment by many colleges offering him sports scholarships. He chose Tennessee State University and was part of the Volunteers Cotton Bowl squad during the 1952-1953 academic year. Ed was also an accomplished bowler, receiving American Bowling Conference recognition for a 300 game in league competition.

Ed left the university after being drafted into the United States Army during the Korean War.

Following his service to his country, Ed dated and married Mary Kathryn and eventually moved his young family to Cleveland, Ohio. Ed retired from Reliance Electric Company after 40 years of service.

A celebration of life service was held Monday, October 25, in Columbia Road Baptist Church, North Olmsted, Ohio.
