Shirley L. Polen Frenz
Shirley L. Polen Frenz, 86, of Washington, died Thursday, November 4, 2021, at home.
She was born September 21, 1935, in Greene County, a daughter of the late J. Thomas Polen and Helen Miller Polen. She was Protestant.
Shirley graduated from Richhill Township High School and attended Waynesburg College.
On March 10, 1956 she married her best friend, soulmate and love of her life, Donald Frenz, who died May 22, 1988. Shirley’s family always came first in her life.
Surviving is a son, Donald Corey (Candy) Frenz; a daughter, Amy Lee Murphy; a granddaughter, Brittany Nicole (Matthew) Hall; a grandson, Cody Ryan Murphy (Kourtney); and dear family friends, Mark Jones and Alexis Durila. Shirley cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren.
Surviving also are three nieces, Deborah E. Berdine, Lisa E. Mansberry and Barbara R. Berdine and their families and several cousins.
Deceased are her sister, Ruth Eleanor Berdine; a nephew, Mark E. Berdine; and two close cousins, Jane Lou White and David Dronsfield.
At the request of the deceased, all services are private and have been entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317.
