Helen C. Prekup

Helen C. Prekup, 89, of Vestaburg, passed away Monday, November, 1, 2021, in Monongahela Valley Hospital.

She was born April, 8, 1932 in Fairmont, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Charles and Agnes Lock Takash.

Mrs. Prekup was a graduate of Centerville High School.

She was previously employed as an assembler for the RCA plant in Meadow Lands, later known as Tac Tek, she also worked as a cashier at Bonton in Washington, and later worked at Adams Personal Care Home.

Helen was a lifelong member of the St. Katharine Drexel Parish.

Mrs. Prekup enjoyed her time in the summer tending to her garden, along with her love of reading, as well as her love for her pet cats. Helen also enjoyed aerobics into her 70s.

On September, 4, 1954, she married David Prekup, who passed away September, 24, 2012. They celebrated 58 years of marriage.

Deceased, in addition to her husband, are her parents, along with a sister Dolores Cole.

Left to cherish her memory are a son David Allen Prekup, of Vestaburg; a brother Patrick Takach (Margaret) of Vestaburg; along with several nieces, and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Greenlee’s Fredericktown Funeral Home, 42 Bank Street at Crawford Road, Fredericktown, where prayers will be held at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, November 13, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Katharine Drexel Parish, Richeyville Campus, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Edward Yuhas officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park.
