Ernest K. Kinder Sr.

Ernest K. Kinder, Sr., 75 of Fredericktown, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021 in his home.

He was born May 9, 1946 in Vestaburg, a son of the late Florin and Katherine Grimm Kinder.

Mr. Kinder was a 1964 graduate of Beth-Center High School.

Ernest was employed as an underground coal miner working at J&L, Shannopin, Bobtown, Kirby, Vesta #5 and various other local mines, retiring in 2012 with 38 years of service. He was also a 3rd generation self-employed farmer.

He was a member of UMWA, and Calvary Chapel Brownsville, where he also served as the head usher.

Ernest loved farming and church, and most of all his grandchildren.

On June 5, 1964 he married Laura Crawford Kinder who survives. They celebrated 57 years of marriage.

Surviving in addition to his wife; are three children, Timothy Kinder (Shannon) of Fredericktown, Jordan Kinder of Uniontown, and Kristina Kinder of Vestaburg; two grandchildren, Shanna Reese of Canonsburg, and Brooke Giecek of Washington; ten great-grandchildren; a brother, Florin Kinder of Amarillo, Texas; three sisters, Donna Palmer of Fredericktown, Rhoda Applebee of Vanderbilt, and Darlene Howes of Deemston; several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, is a son, Ernest K. Kinder Jr.

Friends will be received from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday, in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd., 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 15, with Pastor Lonny Ferreire officiating. Interment will follow in Westland Cemetery.
