Rose M. Smith, 92, of Washington, formerly of Claysville and Weirton, W.Va., died Monday, November 23, 2021, in Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington.

She was born December 9, 1928, in Steubenville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Phillip and Nancy Minco Lamantia.

Rose was a member of Sacred Heart Church of St. James Parish.

In her free time, she enjoyed bingo, shopping, going to the casino, driving her car, and most of all, spending time with her family.

Rose was a member of the Claysville Mothers’ Club.

On August 23, 1957, in Steubenville, she married the love of her life, Edward A. Smith, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons, Edward M. (Robin) Smith of Washington, and Michael J. Smith of West Alexander; a daughter, Debra (Kenneth) Moon of Washington; a sister, Anna Hess of Steubenville; and five grandchildren, Stephanie, Casey and Emily Smith, and Alyssa and Ryan Moon.

Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are four brothers, Phillip, Joseph, Anthony and Pete Lamantia; and three sisters, Josephine Lamantia, Augusta Luconte and Mary DiVittorio.
