Maria Jean Urcho, 71, of Bentleyville, passed away peacefully, with family by her side, Saturday, October 16, 2021. She was a daughter of the late Edward J. Urcho and Helen Kopolovich Urcho of Bentleyville.

Maria was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish (formerly Ave Maria) and the Clementines (graduate of St. Clement Grade School). She was a 1967 graduate of Bentworth High School and later attended Duff’s Business School, where she studied accounting and secretarial services. She also completed several courses at Allegheny Community College and Robert Morris University.

Maria worked at Schneider Incorporated for a short time prior to serving as an administrative assistant for 34 years in the naval defense division of Westinghouse in Monroeville, later known as Bechtel Corporation.

Maria enjoyed traveling with her girlfriends, playing bingo and card games, gardening, and carrying on family traditions through cooking. Her loving preparation of halupki, breaded porkchops, stuffed hot peppers, and poppyseed cake brightened holiday celebrations and picnics. She leaves behind a devoted family and many special friends who remain grateful for her loyal friendship.

She was the beloved sister of Joseph (Joyce) Urcho and Edward (Barbara) Urcho; the cherished aunt of Shawn (Suzanne) Urcho, JoBeth (Mike) Urcho, Jennifer Urcho, Christine (Joe) Gorby, and Kimberly (Christopher) Price; and adored great-aunt of Landon, Levi, Lucas, Bryce, Briella, Alaina and Paisley.

Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 19, in Greenlee Funeral Home, 619 Main Street, Bentleyville, where prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 20, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Katharine Drexel Parish (Bentleyville campus), 126 Church Street, with the Rev. Edward L. Yuhas officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township.
