Mila Jean Wright Ireland Mounts, 85, of Claysville, died at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2021, in Southmont, Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington, after being in failing health for the past four months.

She was born August 18, 1936, in Washington, a daughter of the late Earle Carter Wright Sr. and Alma Mae Claffey Wright, and had resided in the Claysville area since 1964.

Mrs. Mounts was a member of the Claysville First Baptist Church, and also a member and past president of the McGuffey Senior Citizens and also a member of the West Finley Friendship Club.

She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and crossword and picture puzzles.

Mrs. Mounts was an employee of the former Herd’s Drug Store in Washington and was last employed as an aide at the Hillsview Personal Care Home, Claysville, prior to retiring in 1994.

On August 16, 1961, she married William Eugene Ireland, who died February 19, 1986, and on July 14, 1993, she married Paul Edgar Mounts, who died May 27, 2004.

Surviving are a daughter, Mila Jean Ireland (Mike) Riggle of Washington; two stepsons, Randy (Shirley) Mounts of Buffalo Township and Clayton (Cindy) Mounts of Washington; two grandchildren, Michael and Shayla Riggle; two great-grandchildren, Barrett and Sawyer Riggle; five stepgrandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Smith of Cape Coral, Fla.; two brothers, David (Penny) Wright of Ft. Myers, Fla., and James (Chris) Wright of Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her parents and husbands, are a granddaughter, Adrianna Riggle, who died in 1994; two sisters, Esther Lemley and Amy Hernandez; a brother, Earle Wright Jr.

Friends and family will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, September 6, in Claysville First Baptist Church, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 7, with the Rev. Mike Fairchild officiating. Interment will follow in the Washington Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Claysville First Baptist Church, the McGuffey Senior Citizens or the Dementia Society of America.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC, Rogersville.
