Alicia Ashley Peterson

Alicia Ashley Peterson, 31, of Cokeburg, formerly of Washington, died Thursday, September 2, 2021, in Mon Valley Hospital.

She was born March 17, 1990, in Uniontown, a daughter of Tamika Peterson Sykes, who survives.

Alicia was a 2008 graduate of Washington High School, where she was a member of the volleyball, basketball, and track and field teams.

She went on to earn a certification as a nursing assistant from Presbyterian Senior Care. She stayed on with Presbyterian Senior Care and worked at its Washington Campus, before recently starting with Concordia Hospice of Washington Donnell House.

Alicia was an avid Steeler fan and a self- proclaimed member of the Ben Roethlisberger Fan Club. She adored her kids, her family, her pets, and helping others.

Surviving, in addition to her mom, are her very special mother, Michelle Jacobs of Washington; two fathers, Charles Harris of Rimersburg, and Damon Sykes of Washington; two daughters, Alayna Carroll-Peterson of Houston, and Mirakal Jones of Washington; two brothers, Michael (Alice) Harris of Ocala, Fla., and Wanya Harris of Washington; a sister, Jasmine Harris of Jacksonville, Fla.; two godbrothers, Demetrius Ellis of Monessen, and Eric (Corryna Chatman) Carrell of Washington; two godsisters, Quintaya Ellis and Kiona Duke, both of Washington; her grandparents, Dorothy “Mommy G” McCain, Charles and Mary Harris, Linda Richardson, and Louise Jones; uncles Monti McCain, Andre Goodson, John and Dana Pinson, and Michael Constantine; aunts Amy Harris, Kelly McCain, Katrina Pinson, Kecia Armstead and Takisha Gibson; great-uncle, Carl Brown; her very special cousin, Whitney McCain; many cousins, nieces and nephews; her very special wife, Jessica Carroll; the fathers of her children, Shawn Carroll and Frederick Jones; and her beloved pets, Daisy Mae, Mamba and Kobe. Also surviving is a very special friend, Shai Beckner.

Deceased are her grandparents, George and Olivia McCain, and Francis Watkins.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 9, in the Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 10, with the Reverend Tiffany Davis-Robinson officiating. All other services are private.
