David W. Tanner, 70, of Greensboro, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, September 9, 2021, in his home.
He was born May 3, 1951, in Morgantown, W.Va., a son of the late Ira Wayne and Opal M. Jones Tanner. Dave was a graduate of Mapletown High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in business from West Virginia University.
He resided most of his life in Mapletown, where he was a member and lay minister of the Mapletown United Methodist Church.
Dave worked at the former Gulf Station in Masontown before working at the Duquesne Light Warwick Mine. He last worked driving a bus for students attending the Christian and Missionary Alliance School in Morgantown.
Surviving are a nephew, Jeff Mann of Carmichaels; a brother-in-law, Charles H. Mann of Carmichaels; and several cousins.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, is a sister, Judith Tanner Mann.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a graveside service at 1 p.m. Monday, September 13, in the Fairview-Kiger Cemetery, Whiteley Township. The Rev. Dayton D. Mix will officiate.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street, Carmichaels.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Mapletown United Methodist Church.
