Patricia Ann McCaffrey
Patricia Ann Prevade McCaffrey, 92, formerly of McDonald, proud matriarch of a large family, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her children on September 15, 2021.
She was the cherished wife of Francis McCaffrey, who always referred to and treated her as his queen; beloved mother of Francis (Bonnie), Ann (Tom) Higgins, Nancy (Craig) Rogers, John (Sue), and Martin (Susan) McCaffrey; treasured Grandmother of 13; “GiGi” to 17 great-grandchildren; eldest daughter of Peter and Eva Prevade; dear sister to Janet Panaia, the late Donald Prevade, Alex Prevade, Mary Arlene Prevade, Paul Prevade, John Prevade, Carol Baird, and Peter Prevade; she is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews.
She graduated from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and received her bachelor’s degree in business education.
No matter where she lived or at what stage of life, she had an amazing gift for making lasting friendships. She was a woman of her times, who never left the house without her hair done, makeup applied, and immaculately dressed. Always a lady. She was an incredibly forgiving person with a generous spirit. She celebrated life at every turn, from bridge club and Wildwood vacations in the 1960s to Christmas Eve celebrations with grandchildren. A good book and scalding hot coffee were essential to her and might have been the secret to her longevity.
Arrangements by BEINHAUERS, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray. Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, September 19. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on at 10 a.m. Monday, September 20, at St. Benedict the Abbot Church, McMurray. Interment will immediately follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Notre Dame Mausoleum, McMurray.
