JoAnn Pearl Marcinkewicz Duran, 75, of Bulger, passed away, peacefully, Friday, April 1, 2022, in her home.

She was born to parents Paul and Francis Krek Marcinkewicz December 10, 1946, in Jeanette.

JoAnn was a graduate of Chartiers Valley High School and spent her life as a homemaker.

JoAnn met the love of her life, Michael G. Duran, at a Bavington Grange square dance. They were married May 18, 1963, in Wellsburg, W.Va. Together they raised four children, Michael Keith, Laurie Crawford, Greg and Joel Duran.

JoAnn spent many years cooking and baking and was well known throughout the community for her delicious baked goods. JoAnn was a devout member of Robinson Presbyterian Church. Her church family and life were very important to her. JoAnn served many years assisting with the Robinson Church Strawberry Festival, where she also served as a past deacon and elder. Although JoAnn was always busy tending to her family and home, she always had something extra to do. JoAnn worked for Canfield Fair, where she fed the “Thrashing Crew” for 35 years. She also spent time working for Andies Candies and making and selling pies at the the Weirton Farmers Market. As busy as Joann was, she always made time for her husband and children, and this did not go unnoticed. In 2005, JoAnn was awarded “Mother of the Year”, by Robinson U.P. Church; she was so honored by this. Her husband, children and grandchildren were her favorite part of life and she enjoyed her time with them so dearly.

JoAnn is survived by her daughter, Laurie (Mark) Crawford; sons, Greg (Shelly) Duran and Joel (Melissa) Duran; grandsons, Clayton and Colten Crawford, Aleksandr Duran, Micah Duran; granddaughters, Reba (Wesley) Hartlage and Mihya Duran; step-granddaughter, Alex Rumbaugh; and great-granddaughter, Hope Marie Niel-Crawford; and sisters, Sylvia (James) Bonetti and Paulette Schroeder.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Michael G. Duran; son, Michael Keith Duran; and grandson, Cody L. Crawford.

A Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, in Robinson Presbyterian Church. EVERYONE IS ASKED TO MEET AT THE CHURCH. Interment will follow at Robinson Presbyterian Cemetery.
