Dorothy C. Dunning, 85, of Mount Morris, died at 10:20 a.m. Sunday, April 10, 2022, in Morgantown Healthcare and Rehabilitation.

She was born Friday, January 1, 1937, in Washington, D.C., a daughter of the late George J. Covalt and Dorothy Browning Covalt.

Dorothy trained and showed dogs in agility. She taught at West Virginia University for more than 30 years as a biology professor working with bats and moths.

She is survived by one sister, Elizabeth Arnold of Randolph, Vt.; and one niece, Carolyn S. Covalt of Durham, N.C.

Deceased is one sister, Sara Covalt.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation or services. Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 N. Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
