Lesley Ann Schake Kribel
Lesley Ann Schake Kribel, 70, of Amity, formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2022, after years of declining health. She was born August 10, 1951, to Robert Schake and Dorothy Warren Schake.
She grew up in Mt. Washington and went to Pittsburgh Public Schools, becoming class valedictorian when she graduated from South Hills High School in 1969. She attended Duquesne University and the University of Pittsburgh.
She met Jacob Kribel in the early 70s and they were married May 6, 1972.
Lesley was an accomplished gardener, business woman, and homemaker. She was a baker and owner of Kribel’s Bakery. She was also a dedicated caregiver. She provided care for her mother, Dorothy, her sister Marlene, and stepfather George Dougherty.
For a dozen years she was involved in youth softball and baseball in the Lone Pine/Trinity South Area as treasurer, concession manager and team Mom. Through the years she owned at least 30 dogs and even more cats. They were almost all rescues of some sort. She loved all strays.
Lesley is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Jacob; her son, Jacob; daughter, Elizabeth; son-in-law, Brendan Farley; and her beloved granddaughters, Rebecca Farley and Madelyn Farley; as well as brother-in-law, Rick Kaminski.
Lesley is now in the loving arms of those who passed away before her: mother, Dorothy Schake Dougherty; father, Robert Schake; stepfather, George Dougherty; sister, Marlene Schake Venneri; as well as multiple other relatives and friends.
Lesley was a proud organ donor. We hope her donations will help with restoring someone else’s health.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to local animal shelters, food pantries, or other worthwhile organizations.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, in the Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 14.
