James Joseph Durko, 81, of McMurray, formerly of Burgettstown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 10, 2022.

Born on November 22, 1940, in Burgettstown, he is the son of the late Joseph and Anne Durko.

Beloved husband to Susan Hemphill Durko. Loving father to Beth (Jim) Wendt. Cherished grandfather of Brianna Wendt.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Cecelia Durko Burrows and the late Ray Durko.

James graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, and received his Master’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University. He retired from US Steel after many years.

He enjoyed spending time outdoors, golfing, and watching his granddaughter play softball.

James especially loved spending time with his family and his dog. He was a special man to all who loved him and he will be greatly missed.

A private family memorial service will be held at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317, (724) 260-5546.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
