William Jack Lahew, 79, of Eastview, Waynesburg, died at 9:51 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2022, in the Transition Healthcare in Washington, from complications related to illnesses from Agent Orange.
He was born Monday, October 26, 1942, in Waynesburg, a son of the late William Blair Lahew and Gertrude Cox Lahew.
Jack was a graduate of West Greene High School, class of 1962. He was a Veteran, having served with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a Life Member of the James Farrell American Legion #330 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars #4793, both of Waynesburg. Jack was a former manager at General Motors in Ohio.
Surviving are one son, William Blair Lahew, of Jamestown, Ohio; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; three sisters: Connie Loughman, of Sycamore, Carolyn “PeeWee” (Larry) Mankey, of Washington, and Pamela Clark, of Holbrook; two brothers: Stanley “Peeper” Lahew, of Cameron, W.Va., and Jeffrey (Shelley) Lahew, of Eastview, Waynesburg; one half-brother, Terry Varner, of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is one sister, Joanne Medlick.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation or services at this time.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, at a day and time to be announced.
