Cynthia L. “Cindy” Nicholls, 68, of Washington, died in her home Friday, August 5, 2022.

She was born August 6, 1953 in New Eagle, the daughter of the late James and Dorothy Douglas Clutter.

A graduate of Immaculate Conception High School, she worked in a Family Health Clinic for many years, as well as Personalized Distribution Systems, and retired from Wendy’s, where she met her beloved husband.

Cindy was a very active member of Immaculate Conception Church, where she was a Eucharistic Minister and greeter, a member of Christian Mothers, on Parish Council, and participated in Bible Study. She enjoyed volunteering as a food delivery person for several shut-in senior citizens.

She played dart ball for the Bears Club, loved playing scrabble, sitting on her porch watching sunsets with her husband, decorating, gardening, trips to the casino and talking with her sisters. She loved spending time with her sons. Her favorite time was spent “Cluttering” (family time).

On June 17, 2017, Cindy married Thomas H. Nicholls, who survives.

Also surviving are sons, Stephen (Kimberly Abbott) Brezinski, of Washington, Matthew (Christina) Ricupero, of Bethel Park and stepson, Tom (Jen) Nicholls, of South Carolina; siblings, Paula (Alex) Jester, of West Alexander, Jim (Barbara) Clutter, of Roswell, Ga., Linda (Bob) Sten, of Roswell, Ga., Barbara (Bob) Zanolli, of Washington, Pat (Heather) Clutter, of East Liverpool, Ohio, Ed Clutter, of Woodstock, Ga., and Mary (John) Felak, of North Augusta, S.C.; step-grandson, Garrett, and a grandchild on the way; nieces and nephews, Beth Swart (Justin), Melany Agnew (Randy), Amanda Jester (Merrick), Jimmy Clutter (Rebecca), Becky Clutter (Peter), Rob Sten (Carrie), Greg Sten (also godson), Katy Shoukry (Mike), Zach Zanolli (Mindy), Stefanie King (Phillip), Ashley Beard (Andrew), Natalie Clutter (Dylan), Amy Clutter, Jonathan Clutter, Julia Clutter, Jillian Clutter, Ella Clutter, Michael Felak (Ashley), Michelle Gruening (Danny), Andrew Felak (Keziah), Nicole Moore (Nick), Stacey Lucas (Marty), and Alexis Novak; great-nieces and great-nephews, Easton Swart, Alesha Stankus, A.J. Agnew, Christian Agnew, Hannah Agnew, Joshua Agnew, Randi Lynn Agnew, Willow Neal, Caroline Sten, Fisher Sten, Juliette Shoukry, James Shoukry, Ben Zanolli, Jacob Zanolli, Andrew Zanolli, Dylan King, Jace Day, Lily King, Dawson King, Devon Beard, Austin Beard, Lyla Felak, Lucy Felak, Kaylee Moore; and a great-great-nephew, Killian Agnew.

Preceding Cindy in death, were her parents; a brother, David Clutter; and a nephew, Patrick Clutter.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, 119 W. Chestnut Street, Washington, PA 15301.

Friends and family will be received from 12 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2022, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.

The Christian Mothers will pray the Rosary at 2:30 pm.

There is a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, in Immaculate Conception Church with Father John Lynam as celebrant.

Interment to follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
