Dr. John C. Hansell, VMD
Dr. John C. Hansell, VMD, 79, of Canonsburg, formerly of Claysville, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2022.
John was the beloved husband of 52 years to Jacalyn Wyman Hansell; loving dad of Laura Klaus and Tracey Hansell; cherished and devoted Pap Pap of Daniel (Candace Kilgore) Hansell, David Klaus, Bryanna Lonick, Tom (Samantha Ament) Klaus, Collin Lonick, and the late Johnathan Klaus; adoring Great-Pap Pap of Greyson Hansell; dear brother of Donald (Janet) Hansell, and the late David (the late Ruth) Hansell; and brother-in-law of William (Karen) Wyman. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
John graduated from North Hills High School, earned his B.S. degree from Penn State, and went on to attend University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine. He was in private veterinary practice serving small animals, mostly cats and dogs. He also served at both the Washington County Humane Society and the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society. John was a lover of all animals, including his horses, and most especially his beloved feline companion, Oliver The Cat, who survives him.
We take some solace in the idea that-in addition to dear family that have gone before him-Dr. Hansell is receiving a hero’s welcome in Heaven, as well as, on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge from his furry, scaly, feathery friends.
