Rosa Mae Ward

Rosa “Rose” Mae Ward, 91, of Paris, passed away Wednesday August 10, 2022, in her home. She was born September 30, 1930, in Aleppo Township, a daughter of the late William Hobert Anderson and Fannie Long Anderson.

She was also preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Donald E. Ward (1997); son, Terry Ward (2013); brothers, Robert “Andy” Anderson, Charles E. Anderson and Junior Anderson.

Rose was a member of Paris Presbyterian Church, where she also belonged to the MAT class, was a charter member of Hanover Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, and the West Virginia Women’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame.

Together with her late husband, they catered wedding receptions for many years at the Hanover VFD.

Surviving are her sons, Ted Ward of Bridgeport, Ohio, Kelly Ward of Paris and Gary Ward (Tracey), also of Paris; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 15, at the Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, W.Va., where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, with the Reverend Dr. Christina Hosler presiding. Interment will be in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Florence.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Paris Presbyterian Church, 121 Steubenville Pike, Burgettstown, PA 15021.
