James E. Sphar
James E. “Jim” Sphar, 61, of Venetia, died Wednesday, August 10, 2022, in his home.
He was born December 4, 1960, in Washington, to Marion Wallace Sphar of Venetia and the late Clayton Sphar.
Jim was a graduate of Peters Township High School, member of Wright’s United Methodist Church and was a professional waiter at numerous area restaurants, most recently Atria’s in McMurray where he worked for a number of years.
Jim enjoyed gardening and tending to his many chickens, ducks, turkeys, peacocks and beloved dog, Yasper. He was a classic film buff and enjoyed attending musicals. Jim also operated his own Christmas tree farm in Venetia for many years.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are one brother, David (Barbara) Sphar of Eighty Four; two sisters, Kim Boehme (John Debord) of Venetia and Lorraine (David) Marlett of Upper St. Clair; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, in Kegel Funeral Home Inc., David P. Kegel, Supervisor, 3560 Washington Avenue, Finleyville.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, in the Funeral Home, with Reverend Richard Roberts officiating.
Private interment will be held in Maple Creek Cemetery, Charleroi.
