Anna May Hays Lenik

Anna May Hays Lenik, 101, of Finleyville, died Friday, August 12, 2022, in her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born January 22, 1921, in Monongahela, a daughter of the late William and Susanna Sarnosky Hays.

Anna was a homemaker and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Finleyville.

She was a great cook, baked pies by the dozen, and was known for her apricot cookies. She was also an avid card player.

Surviving are seven children, Joseph (Jeanne) Lenik of Library, Donald Lenik of Glen Burnie, Md., Patricia (Walter) Willoughby of Mt. Lebanon, Ronald (Faith) Lenik of Finleyville, Sherry Lenik of Bethel Park, Robert and David Lenik, both of Finleyville; 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased are her husband, Joseph Lenik Sr.; siblings, Joseph and William Hays, Albina Mutschler, Susan Haburchak and Mary Ritmanich; and great-grandson, Jake Lannin.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 15, in Kegel Funeral Home, Inc., David P. Kegel, supervisor, 3560 Washington Avenue, Finleyville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, in St. Francis of Assisi Church (St. John XXIII Parish), 3609 Washington Avenue, Finleyville. Interment will follow in Finleyville Cemetery.
