John L. Miller

John L. “J.L.” Miller, 84, of Washington, went to be with his Lord and Savior, peacefully, Tuesday, August 9, 2022, in his home, surrounded by his family. He was born December 25, 1937, in Washington, a son of the late John L. and Bessie Meeks Miller.

Mr. Miller attended Washington High School. He was the owner and operator of J.L. Miller and Sons Roofing since 1955.

Mr. Miller was a member of Life Church in Washington. He loved farming and spending time on his tractor at his home in Washington, and he enjoyed boating and fishing at his home in Florida.

Mr. Miller was a hardworking and generous man that was full of life. He had a wonderful sense of humor. Mr. Miller was a loving husband and father who loved nothing more than spending quality time with his family. He absolutely adored his wife and his family was his number one priority. Everything he did in life, he did for his family. Mr. Miller will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

On December 12, 1955, he married Judith A. Bannister, who survives. The couple had been married for over 66 years.

Also surviving are two sons, Johnny W. (Amy) Miller of Washington and Jeff E. (Robin) Miller of Washington; two daughters, Julie A. Miller of Washington and Audrey A. (Dwayne) Finney of Canonsburg; 15 grandchildren, Johnny, Nathan, Aaron and Adam Miller, Sammy, Zack and Scotty Morgan, and Caitie Morris, Stephanie Domachowski, Jordan Bruckner, Jeffrey Miller and Madison Powell, and Courtney, Lexey and Anthony Finney; along with 34 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Miller was preceded in death by three brothers, Bruz, Ed and Paul Miller; and by two sisters, Opal Pierson and Evelyn Spriggs.

All funeral arrangements were private and under the direction of the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor / director, Holly Renay Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director, Park N. Crosier, director.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Life Church, 100 N. Main Street, Washington, PA 15301.
