William Orban
William “Bill” Orban, 65, of Washington, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 3, 2022, with family at his side. He was born in Washington during a snow storm March 8, 1957, the first son of the late William and Emma Muscavitch Orban.
Bill attended John F. Kennedy Grade School and Trinity High School, then proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for 12 years having achieved the rank of Sergeant.
Bill retired after years as a carpenter in the building trades. Former co-workers considered him a team player, and a hardworking jack-of-all-trades.
Bill liked drinking Miller Lite and doing shots of whiskey with his life-long mentor, Uncle Eddie Muscavitch, who passed in 2018. Bill was a long-time member of the Independent Club in Washington, where he gathered with his friends. Bill was an avid reader of history, and watching documentaries, Westerns and sports, in particular the Pittsburgh Pirates.
He enjoyed spending time with his son, Bill, who he jokingly called “his idiot son” and, most important to him, his grandson, Kory.
Left to cherish his memory, in addition to his son, William C. Orban and grandson, William Kory Orban, both of Washington, are his sisters, Rosemary (Charles) Furman of Scottdale, Karen (Douglas) Meighen of Washington, Sandra Orban of Wheeling, W.Va., Elana Orban of Cocoa, Fla.; and brothers, Michael Orban of Merritt Island, Fla., and Jerry Stewart of Macon, Ga.; his stepdaughter, Desiree Williams of Meridian, Miss.; his daughter-in-law, Jessica Fields of Washington; and several nephews and nieces.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the wonderful caretakers that took such good care of Bill at Transitions Healthcare in Washington and Concordia Lutheran Ministries.
A remembrance of his life and final interment at Greene County Memorial Park will be arranged at a later date.
Memorial contributions to Concordia Ministries, c/o Donell House Washington, are suggested.
