Alice V. Rossi Auld
Alice V. Rossi Auld, 89, of Washington, formerly of Chartiers Township, died peacefully, Friday, August 12, 2022, in Southminster Place, her home of the past 12 years. Her devoted daughter was at her side when she went to be with her Lord and Savior.
Alice was born on August 21, 1932, in Hickory, daughter of the late Angelo Rossi and Iva Jane Young Rossi.
She was a graduate of Hickory High School, where she was a majorette in the band, and worked as a hostess and front office assistant at the former Holiday Inn in Washington.
Mrs. Auld was an avid Steelers fan and enjoyed reading, quilting, playing cards, and playing the piano. She was very generous with her time with family, and was involved with her children’s and grandchildren’s activities, especially sports.
On June 25, 1951, she married Roy Cecil Auld, who died April 29, 1997.
Surviving are a daughter, Donna Lukich; a son, Michael Auld (Sherry); a sister, Margaret Leopold; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren plus one on the way; and many nieces and nephews, including a very special niece, Cathy Whetzel Larkin (Michael).
Deceased are two sons, R. Edward Auld and Thomas H. Auld; four brothers, Ernest, Harry, William A. and William Rossi; and five sisters, Jane Kraeer, Bessie Popp, Mary Chipps, Pauline Reed, and Angelina King.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, August 16, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, August 17, with Rev. Dr. Jason Hefner officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.
The family is very thankful for the wonderful, caring staff at Southminster Place who became like a second family to Alice.
