Jean Lucciola Insana
Jean Lucciola Insana, 93, of Washington, died Friday, August 12, 2022, in her home.
She was born January 10, 1929, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Enrico and Antonia Lucciola.
Jean was a 1947 graduate of Canonsburg High School.
She worked at Woolworths during high school. She worked as a seamstress for Bobby Brooks Garment Factory for 18 years before its closing. She worked at the Washington County Courthouse, in housekeeping, for a short time before going to work for the Washington Hospital. She worked there in the escort department for 17 years before her retirement in 1998.
Jean was an active member of Immaculate Conception Church of St. James Parish.
In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, cooking, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
On January 22, 1950, in Canonsburg, she married the love of her life, Frank “Lucky” Insana, who survives. The two shared over 72 years of marriage.
Also surviving are a son, David F. (Jodi) Insana, of Cranberry Township; a daughter, Diana Jean Insana Mooney, of Washington; a brother, Tony (Delores) Lucciola, of Virginia; six grandchildren, Ryan (Brittany) and Jessica (Chris Wojcuich) Insana, Nicholas and Joseph (Rachel) Insana, and Shawn and Bryan Mooney; four great-grandchildren, Luke, Ellie, Gabrielle, and Shyla; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a son, Gabriel Insana; and four brothers, Joseph, Patsy, John, and Dominic Lucciola.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, in the Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 18. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
