Paul Revere Gray
Paul Revere Gray, 86, of Washington, died Wednesday, August 10, 2022, in Washington Hospital.
He was born March 18, 1936, in Caledonia, a son of the late Lloyd Byron “Chizzy” and Jane Wilt Gray.
Mr. Gray earned both a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Theology from Eastern Pilgrim College.
Rev. Gray was a minister at several congregations, including Pine Grove Weslyan Church, Washington Weslyan Church, and Ten Mile Church of the Brethren. In addition, he was, for several years, the chaplain for the Washington County Civil Air Patrol Squadron 601.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran from the Korean War era having served on the destroyer USS Bearss, DD-654. He also worked as an industrial and maintenance engineer for several southwest Pennsylvania companies, including All Clad Metals, Rubber Rolls, Glass Tech, and Allegheny Ludlum.
A man who loved working with his hands, Paul enjoyed building all types of homes and for several years ran his own home construction business building log and custom homes. He also loved hunting and fishing.
On August 6, 1960, he married the love of his life, Nadine B. McClintick, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Kevin T. (Marlene) Gray and Timothy P. (Robyn) Gray; 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are four brothers, Zane, Lloyd, Orlin, and Donald, who died in infancy; and five sisters, Pearl, June, Ada, Alice, Connie, and Kathryn, who died in infancy.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 20, in Washington Alliance Church. A memorial service will also be held at Weedville Weslyan Church at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 3.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Washington Alliance Church, 246 Sanitarium Road, Washington.
