Daniel L. Cillo
Daniel L. Cillo, of Eighty Four, died peacefully Friday, August 12, 2022.
He is a son of the late Margaret T. Cillo and Herman O. Cillo.
Daniel is survived by brother, Dennis L. Cillo (Mary Elizabeth); nephews and nieces, Dennis Jr., Anna Rachel, Alexa Leah, Herman; and great-nieces, Haylee and Isabella; and nephew, Jeremy.
A graduate of St. Mary’s in McKees Rocks and Carnegie Mellon University with a degree in chemical engineering, Daniel worked at the Bureau of Mines and ERDA in South Park for over 30 years and was a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the American Chemical Society, secretary/treasurer of the Coal Technology Group, and advisor to a FIRST Robotics Team for handicapped children.
After retirement, he published several compilations of short stories.
Daniel was a long-time supporter of both the Pittsburgh Symphony and the Public Theater.
Friends and family are welcome for visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 29, in McDermott Funeral Home, Inc., 334 Forest Grove Road, Kennedy Township.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 23, in St. Philip Parish/Ascension Roman Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
