Freeda Greer
Freeda Greer, 95, of Canonsburg, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2022, at the Canon House. She was born April 18, 1927, in Canonsburg, daughter of Theodore and Evelyn Wooliscroft Pratten.
She lived her entire life in Canonsburg, she was a member of Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church where she volunteered for many events and gatherings. She was a Gold Star Mother. She was also a member of the Pythian Sisters.
Freeda worked as a butcher at The Tiny Store for more than 40 years. She always lived by her motto: “lived, laughed, loved.”
On April 30, 1948 she married Lawrence “Bus” Greer, who passed away January 16, 2008.
Left behind to cherish her memory is a son, David W. Greer (Cynthia) of Canonsburg; a daughter, Kristine E. Manfredi (Patsy) of Washington; two grandchildren, Gina L. Zacios (Michael), Michael Manfredi; two great-grandchildren, Anthony Manfredi and Aubrie Zacios; brother, Ronald Pratten (Shirley) of Canonsburg; sisters, Marlene Kelly of St. Louis, Mo. and Carol Fetkenhour (Carl) of Tuscon, Ariz.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her son, Lawrence F. Greer; and brother, Roy Pratten.
Friends and family are welcome from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday, August 21, 2022, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD, owner / supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home on Monday, August 22, 2022. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Gardens, 3739 Washington Road, Canonsburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church.
