Mary Rose Verderber Warnick, 98, of Washington, peacefully passed away Thursday, August 18, 2022.
Mary was born in 1924, a daughter of former Washington Police Chief Joseph Verderber and Mary Arnold Verderber.
Mary graduated in the January 1942 class of Washington High School and worked as a Bell Telephone operator. She supported the World War Il effort by making hand grenades at the local Washington “war plant.”
Mary and Robert Allen Warnick were married in 1947. Robert passed away July 1970.
Together they had three children, Marcia Campbell and husband Mark of Ormond Beach, Fla., Robert Allen Warnick and wife Linda (deceased) of Burlington, Ky.; Ronald Warnick and wife Rita of Coraopolis.
Mary was the proud grandmother of three grandsons, Robert A. Warnick and wife Corrie, Derek Warnick and wife Anne, and Kevin Warnick and wife Kayla. Mary’s great-grandsons gave her endless joy: Henry, Oliver and Elliott, Theo, Tyler and soon-to-be-born Trae, and Connor, Jacob (deceased), Bennett and Hudson. Although distance kept her from seeing the boys, Mary enjoyed weekly pictures of their accomplishments in school and sports and family celebrations, which she was unable to attend.
Mary is survived by her sister, Helen Verderber Abel of Washington.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Verderber Wilson of Naperville, Ill., and Vivian Verderber Loar of Washington.
Mary was predeceased by a special niece and leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.
