Rebecca Kabay Spina
Rebecca K. “Becky” Spina of Washington, died on Friday, August 26, 2022, after a courageous fight against cancer.
Becky was born in Charleroi, on February 4, 1965, to the late George J. Kabay and Carol Matthews Kabay of Washington.
She attended Bentworth High School, Indiana University of Pennsylvania earning a business degree in Accounting and the University of Pittsburgh where she earned her MBA.
On May 26, 1990, she married the late Joseph C. Spina Sr.
Becky’s love was raising her children and participating in their activities. She loved basketball and spent many years coaching girls youth teams and was an active member of the Wash High Band Aides. She attended all their sporting, band and drama events.
Surviving are her children, Jonathan Spina of Pittsburgh, Rachel Spina at home; step-children, Joseph Spina Jr. (Autumn) of Ellsworth, Jami Spina (Jerome Williams) of Canonsburg; siblings, Michael Kabay (Michele) and Kathleen Pollock (Scott); and many nieces and nephews.
Friends were received from 6 until 8 p.m. on Monday, August 29, 2022, and from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Avenue, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Supervisor / Owner, Holly Renay Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Park N. Crosier, Director.
A prayer service will be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, St. James Parish, W. Chestnut Street, Washington, with the Reverend John Lynam as celebrant. Interment will follow in Scenery Hill Cemetery.
