Bobby Buford Riffee
Bobby “Bob” Buford Riffee, 81, of Washington, went to be with his Lord Monday, November 14, 2022, in Washington Hospital.
Bob was born May 12, 1941, in Pickens, W.Va., a son of the late Buford Ryvers Riffee and Reta Mae Jackson Riffee.
Bob graduated from Smithville Western High School, Ohio, in 1959.
Bob enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1960. A proud Vietnam veteran, he served eight years and toured in Papua, New Guinea, and Vietnam, where he contracted Agent Orange.
In 1962, married Barbara Ellen Purdy. They were blessed to be married for 60 years.
He worked in the titanium industry for 45 years, retiring from Perryman Company in Houston.
Bob was a member of the Washington First Church of the Nazarene, in Washington. He loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, kayaking and golfing.
Bob loved his family, especially his granddaughters, Samantha, Paige and Hannah.
He was a kind and gentle soul devoted to his family and friends and loved by so many. Bob will be remembered for his laughter and concern for others, and for the way he brightened the worst of days.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Purdy Riffee; daughters, Kimberly Ann Hornung (Tom) of Kulpmont, and Suzanne M. Green (Denis) of Washington; brothers, Billy Riffee (Betty) of Wichita, Kans., and Buford Riffee (Jane) of New Port Richey, Fla.; sisters, Deborah Morgan of Middlebury, Ind., and the late Sharon Wery (surviving, Robert) of Delaware, Ohio; granddaughters, Samantha Friedline (Nikolas), Paige Hornung, and Hannah Hornung of Kulpmont; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation per the family’s request.

Interment will be at 1 p.m. Friday, December 16, at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. For those wishing to attend, please gather by 12:15 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, for a procession to the cemetery.
Military honors will be accorded graveside by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 and members of the Air Force.
