Ruth Mary Dovec Gobleck

Ruth Mary Dovec Gobleck, 90, of Joffre, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, in her home with her brother and niece, Loretta, by her side.

She was born on October 5, 1932, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Milnarcik Dovec.

A 1950 graduate of Union High School in Burgettstown, she worked with her father, Andy, in his tailor shop on Main Street in Burgettstown for many years.

She was a member of the Burgettstown Presbyterian Church and enjoyed crocheting afghans, her card clubs and bowling.

Her beloved husband, Domenick F. “Mickey” Gobleck, whom she married on July 11, 1953, passed away on December 26, 2009.

She is survived by her brother, John Dovec and wife, Patricia, of Weirton, W.Va.; nieces, Dr. Betsy Dovec and husband, Aaron Wik, of Orlando, Fla. and Dr. Christine Weld and husband, Jesse, of Dallastown; and many cousins, great and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. on Monday, December 12, 2022, in Slater Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., BURGETTSTOWN, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, with her Pastor, the Reverend Cinda Isler, officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Burgettstown.
