Howard Dale Bish Sr. of Midway, passed away into the arms of his Savior on Friday, December 23, 2022, at the age of 83.

Dale was born on August 3, 1939, to the late Walter and Velma Bish of Midway, Pa.

Dale was the most faithful, loving, and playful man. He was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Midway. He loved his heavenly father deeply. If the church doors were open, he wanted to be inside the church. He loved to recite the books of the Bible, as well as scripture verses, and made sure his children and grandchildren could do the same. His family loved to sing along with him as he belted out hymns for any occasion. His best memories are ones spent with his family. He loved to play with his children and grandchildren, as they were his pride and joy. Playing with them, telling jokes, working with them in the garage, and hugging them tight, were the highlights of his bright life.

On October 24, 1970, he married the love of his life, Eleanor Jean Barish, who survives. Together, they raised their two precious children, Carla Jean Lombardo (Robi) of Cranberry Township, and Howard Dale Bish, Jr. (Pamela) of Dacula, Ga. Dale treasured the 52 years of marriage he shared with his devoted wife.

Dale is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, June Davis; and his brothers, Walter, James, and fraternal twin, John Dean Bish, with whom he shared a special bond.

He is survived by his grandchildren, Alexa Lombardo of Cranberry Township, and Leyton, Everett, and Carter Bish of Dacula, Ga. In addition, he is survived by his sister-in-law, Donna Mike Bish (wife of John Dean), of Midway; and many nieces and nephews who adored their “Uncle Dale”.

He graduated from Midway High School in 1957 and continued by serving in the Army as a medical specialist in 1960, where he was honorably discharged.

Dale was a hardworking man and spent over 55 years devoted to his profession as an electrician. He never turned down an opportunity to help friends or family when his vast skills were needed. He was a lifelong member of the Midway Volunteer Fire Department.

Friends and family will be received 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, in Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc., 106 St. John St., Midway. A Fireman’s Service will be held on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Friends and family will also be received 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, December 29, at the First Baptist Church of Midway, 210 Front St., Midway, Pa. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. at the church with an interment following at The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Canonsburg, Pa. Donations can be made to the First Baptist Church of Midway.

Dale always referred to Heaven as Glory, and everyone who loved him is rejoicing that the most loving and tender father is now joined with his perfect Father in Glory.
