Ruth A.Moore Shorts, 91, died December 22, 2022. She spent her life either smiling or swearing.

She was born April 4, 1931 in Washington, a daughter of the late Walter and Mary Winters Moore. Preceding her in death are siblings William, Mary, Dorthy, and Walter.

Surviving are a daughter, Kimberly Mento and her husband, Daniel; two grandsons, Andrew Mento and Alexander Mento, and several nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her dog Coco.

She was a 1952 graduate of Trinity High School. Ruth worked at Brockway Glass No. 7 until it closed in 1984. She went on to work at Bekins Van Lines and Always Moving, where she was known as Aunt Ruth, and worked there until 2006. She lived the last few years at Frederick Living.

Ruth loved shopping, watching “Say Yes to the Dress,” and drinking tea with too much sugar. She was always generous even when she didn’t have much to give. If you benefited in any way from her generosity, please pay it forward.
