Lori Jean Ross, 41, of Canonsburg, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Lori was born on August 27, 1980, in Washington, a daughter of P. Jean Ricciuti of Vestaburg, and Kenneth Ross of Lowhill.

She was a 1998 graduate of Bethlehem-Center High School, and later earned a computer science degree at California University of Pennsylvania.

Disinterested in the formality of a traditional office job, Lori’s independent, convivial nature helped her excel in the hospitality industry, where she formed lifelong friendships with many of her customers and co-workers at such establishments as Atria’s and Texas Roadhouse.

Lori’s expertise in genealogy eventually led her to found two companies of her own, Land and Heir Consulting, LLC., and Land and Heir Solutions, Inc., both genealogy brokerages catering to the Oil and Gas Industry.

One of Lori’s closest friends described her in flourishing detail as a “technicolor fairy in a film noir world,” and all who knew her would heartily agree.

Lori’s “joie de vivre” was evident in her many pursuits: she traveled Europe and the States, with a special affection for New Orleans’ art, music, and culture. As a member of the exclusive Club Leaf and Bean, she could appraise cigars and wine with the most knowledgeable enthusiasts. Her sharp wit and receptivity made her the most magnetic presence in a room, and she was happiest when those she loved could celebrate and relish all of the best pleasures in life.

Despite her numerous passions and successes, Lori’s true joy came from her only son, Leo. Together, with their family, they enjoyed traveling to Orlando, reading and collecting all things Harry Potter, and exploring the outdoors. We are comforted knowing that the memory of Lori will forever remain a beacon of love, generosity, and guidance in Leo’s life.

Lori is survived by the love of her life, Joseph Horvath, and their son, Leo Horvath. Also surviving are a mother, P. Jean Ricciuti; a father, Kenneth Ross (Tammy); beloved sister, Christina Pucel (Joe Barno); nephews, Julian, Oliver, and Noah; and a niece, Scarlett; a cherished cousin, Kim McCrerey Impiccini; a mother-in-law, Rebecca Cannon; a father-in-law, Joseph Horvath; a sister-in-law, Mona Horvath-Gutierrez (Hector); a niece, Logan, and a nephew, Devin; a brother-in-law, Brandon Horvath; many other beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins; and two feline companions, Benny and Waffles.

Deceased are maternal grandparents, Patsy and Patricia Ricciuti; and paternal grandparents, Andy and Mildred Ross.

A Celebration of Life memorial will be announced in the near future.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Joseph or Leo Horvath, 111 W. Fair Meadows Drive, Canonsburg, PA 15317.
