Robert Mavrich
Robert “Bob” Mavrich, 73, of Bethel Park, passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 27, 2022.
Bob was born on April 19, 1948, in Strabane, to the late Henry and Marcella Mavrich.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Teresa Mesko Maverich; and by their daughter, Natalie (Joseph) Glasser; and son, Jason (Amy) Mavrich. He was Pappy to his six fantastic grandchildren, Tesa, Michael, Alyssa, Cole, Rylan, and Mady. Also survived by his sisters, Carole (John) Pankas and Debbie (Drew) Gasper; and brother, Tim (Patti) Mavrich, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Denny (Maxine) Rusiewski.
Bob had a passion for golf and wrestling. He coached wrestling and baseball for many years. When not coaching, he was refereeing wrestling or yelling at the Steelers game.
He was inducted in the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame with his 1966 Canon-McMillan Wrestling Team. He enjoyed his golf buddies and drinking a beer with them after a round of golf.
Bob always made sure his voice was heard as he worked at the St. Valentine’s Fish Fry and Festival. He was known for his dry sense of humor, telling and re-telling his favorite jokes and movie lines, and his cooking abilities, especially fried chicken and mashed potatoes. Often called Bob-arazzi, he was never far from his camera.
Bob and Teresa were approaching their 44th wedding anniversary in April. They always enjoyed spending time hiking, riding bikes, and being in nature together. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
