Michael F. Vosel, Jr.

Michael F. Vosel, Jr., 86, of Cecil Township, died Friday, January 28, 2022, in the St. Clair Hospital.

He was born July 21, 1935, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Michael and Tressa Jackson Vosel.

Mike served with the U.S. Army for two years from March 1958 until March of 1959, with 18 months overseas duty in Germany.

Mr. Vosel had worked in Bridgeville for Universal Cyclops, then General Electric Glass Plant, from where he retired following 35 years of service.

Following in the footsteps of his father, he served 42 years as a Game Warden for the Pennsylvania State Game Commission.

Mike was a member of the McDonald and Avella Sportsmen’s Clubs and the Indian Springs Rod and Gun Club in Avella. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed trap shooting.

Mr. Vosel was a member of the Venice United Presbyterian Church.

On March 6, 1965, he married Nella Jane Phillips Barni, who died October 11, 2018.

Surviving are two step-sons, Allen Barni and his wife Darlene of Cecil Township, and Gary Barni of Johnstown; a step-granddaughter, Jamie Bomberger (Scott); two step-great-grandsons, Wyatt and Samuel Bomberger; two sisters, Nancy Susa (Donald) of Zanesville, Ohio, and Thelma Draggi of Canton, Ohio; two brothers, David Vosel and Daniel Vosel both of Bridgeville; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, where services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, February 7, 2022.

Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
