Sharon L. Burgess
Sharon L. Burgess, 75, of Washington, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022, in the Washington Hospital with her daughter at her side.
She was born January 19, 1947, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Charles and Josephine Rudy Burgess.
Sharon was a 1964 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School.
She had been employed as a nurse’s aide for the Thomas Nursing Home in Canonsburg; a food service manager for a retirement community when she lived in San Antonio, Tex.; and was presently doing clerical work in the distribution center of the Washington City Mission.
Ms. Burgess was an avid reader and talented vocalist. She loved cooking and she was known to make Christmas magical for her daughter, nieces and nephews.
Surviving are her daughter, Elaine Burgess of Austin, Tex.; four brothers, Charles E. Burgess (Ilona) of Seat Pleasant, Md., William J. Burgess (Trudy) of Adkin, Tex., Joseph R. “Dick” Burgess (Gwen) of Houston, and Donald L. Burgess (Debbie) of San Antonio, Tex.; a sister, Beth L. Lopez of San Antonio, Tex.; and many nieces and nephews.
There are no services planned at this time.
