Janet M. Slimick
Janet M. Slimick, 89, formerly of Cecil, died Saturday, February 5, 2022, in Evergreen Assisted Living.
She was born February 5, 1933, in Bishop, a daughter of the late Steve and Bertha Mouraret Adams.
She was a member of Cecil American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling and her grandchildren.
She worked 24 years as a civilian commercial traffic supervisor for Department of Army, Transportation Office, Oakdale.
Surviving are three sons, T. Mark (Martha) Slimick of Oak Island, N.C., Douglas A. (Kathy) Slimick Sr. of Bethel Park, and Dale E. (Toneen) Slimick of Sarasota, Fla.; daughter, Paula M. (Jeffrey Sr.) Sakal of Washington; nine grandchildren, Neal (Meghan), Joseph (Mirka), Douglas Jr. (Tricia), Darren, Dale Jr. (Rebecca), Kristopher (Rachael) and Nicholas Slimick, Jeffrey Jr. (Laureann), Timothy (Rachael) Sakal; great-grandchildren, Paxton, Audra, Sophie, Jonah, Maisie, Della, Julia and Luna Slimick, Ethan, Emma and Caleb Sakal; brother, Ronald (Cindy) Adams of Canonsburg; and sister, Joyce Patnesky of Scott Township.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Theodore Slimick; two sisters, Margaret (Bill) Teyssier, Marcella (George) Jiblets; and three brothers, Robert (Martha) Adams, William (Mary) Adams and Thomas (Ann) Adams.
To honor her wishes there will be no visitation.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 17, in Corpus Christi Parish, St. Mary’s Church.
Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
A celebration of life will be held in Sarasota, Fla., at a later date.
