Lena L. Riggs Jones
Lena L. Riggs Jones, 97, of Weirton, W.Va., passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022, in Southmont of Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington.
She was born May 19, 1924, a daughter of the late Joshua and Margaret Evans Riggs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Donald K. Jones; her son, Stanley K. Jones; and her seven siblings, Geraldine McNeal, Zelma Cassella, Violet Cole, Alberta Meszaros, Jean Adams, Katherine Morgan and Lonny Riggs.
She was a proud homemaker and faithfully attended the Church of Christ for the majority of her life.
Lena is survived by her children, Marge (Carl) Chiarenza of McMurray, and Ron (Gale) Jones of Weirton; daughter-in-law, Gloria Jones of McDonald; her seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday, February 18, in Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 19. Interment will immediately follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Weirton.
The family requests that all visitors to the funeral home wear a mask and practice social distancing.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Woodside Place for taking such great care of Lena in the last years of her life.
