Peter Alexas Jr.
Peter “Pete” Alexas Jr., 87, of Washington, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 17, 2022, with his family at his side. He was born February 12, 1935, in Washington, a son of the late Pete and Bessie Karanzalis Alexas.
Mr. Alexas was a graduate of Washington High School and was Greek Orthodox by faith.
He was employed throughout his life for several glass manufacturing companies as a quality control manager and was promoted to plant manager at Henryetta’s Midland Glass. This was a profession that he took a lot of pride in and was well respected throughout the industry.
Mr. Alexas enjoyed investing in the stock market, watching sports and playing blackjack and other games at the casino. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving are a daughter, Cindy (Bruce) Kozelou of Wisconsin; a sister, Freda “Georgia” Kohl of Washington; a granddaughter, Brooke Kozelou, whom he absolutely adored; sister-in-law, Jean Alexas; three nephews, Tom Alexas, John (Trudy) Alexas and Steven (Leslie) Alexas; and a niece, Maria (Rob) Montgomery. Several great-nieces and great-nephews and one great-great-nephew also survive.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Alexas was preceded in death by his former wife, Lois Burchell; a brother, George Alexas; brother-in-law, Richard Kohl; and a nephew, Michael Kohl.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. hour of a funeral service Monday, February 28, in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor / director, Holly Renay Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director, Park N. Crosier, director. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
