Yolanda R. King
Yolanda R. King, 90, of Avella, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, in Evergreen Assisted Living, Washington.
She was born on January 13, 1931, in Alexandria, La., daughter of the late Ovieton V. & Jimmie Ruth King McGlothin.
Yolanda was a 1950 graduate of Providence Central High School, in Alexandria, La., and had lived in Avella since 1964.
She enjoyed listening to Country music, doing word games and learning about local history. She loved spending time with family and taking care of her cats.
Yolanda was Catholic by faith.
On July 21, 1964, in Alabama, she married Robert Jackson King, who passed away on June 30, 2018.
Surviving are, a son, Edward “Hobo” (Dottie) King, of Avella; half-sister, Joan Wilson, of Richardson, Tex.; and a nephew, Thomas Paul McGlothin.
Deceased in addition to her husband and parents; are a sister, Mary Ellen McGlothin; and a half-brother, Ovieton V. McGlothin, Jr.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, January 9, in the Jerome A. Stefkovich Funeral Home Inc., 18 Campbell Street, Avella, where a Blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 10, with Father Harry Bielewicz officiating.
Burial will be in Independence Cemetery, Avella.
