Anita Jo Phillips
Anita Jo Phillips, 63, of Spraggs, died at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at home following a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was born Wednesday, October 8, 1958, in Waynesburg. A daughter of the late Hiram Smith Teagarden and Cassie Evelyn Kennedy Teagarden.
Anita was a member of the Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witnesses in Waynesburg. She enjoyed studying the Bible, scrabble, puzzles, and traveling. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
She loved children, and watching children, at her home. Anita was a 1976 graduate of Waynesburg Central High School. Before taking care of children at home she was an LPN, having worked at the Greene County Memorial Hospital and the Curry Memorial Home.
She is survived by her husband, Richard L. Phillips, whom she married on September 25, 1976.
Also surviving are one daughter, Kimberly Jo Phillips, of Mt. Morris; one son, Timothy Richard (Meghan) Phillips, of Waynesburg; three grandchildren, Braydon, Cadence, and Ainsley; two sisters, Karen S. Casto, of Kenna, W.Va., and Linda D. Johnson, of Morgantown, W.Va.; two brothers, Bruce (Kathie) Teagarden, of Morgantown, W.Va., and Ricky A. (Amelia) Teagarden, of Marysville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a greeting of friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2022, in the Milliken and Throckmorton FH, Inc. Daryl L. Throckmorton, Owner / Director, 197 N. Maiden Street, Waynesburg.
Services will be private, with a private burial in the Blacksville Cemetery, Blacksville, W.Va.
The family ask that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witnesses, 281 Washington Road, Waynesburg, Pa. 15370.
