Daniel L. Gooderl, 54, of Amsterdam, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, January 6, 2022.
A son of the late Robert Gooderl and Vicki Marie Stewart, he was born September 28, 1967, in Steubenville, Ohio.
Dan worked as a salesman for Gipson Bearing in Wintersville, Ohio.
An avid Notre Dame fan, for years he was a season ticket holder. He was an Eagle Scout, and held memberships with the Weirton Boat Club and Brays Chapel United Methodist Church, in Toronto, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife, the former Sharon Heirendt; two sons, Chris (Melissa) Gooderl, and Nick (Maddy) Heirendt; a daughter, Jacklyn (Tevin) Heirendt; three grandsons, Colten, Jack, Bryson; two granddaughters, Kinsey and Sophia; four brothers, Mike (Marcy) Gooderl, Chip (Janet) Stewart, Brian (Kelly) Stewart, Ken (Christy) Stewart; a sister, Kathy (Chris) Briggs; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents, Bob and Betty Gooderl, and Vicki and Chuck Stewart.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2022, in Dodds Funeral Home of Amsterdam.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, in the funeral home.
