Karen J. Sickles
Karen J. Sickles, 64, of Washington, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022, in her home.
She was born September 21, 1957, in McKeesport, a daughter of Dr. Charles S. Jones, of The Villages, Fla., and the late Betty Jean Smith Jones.
Mrs. Sickles was a 1975 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School. She attended the University of Arizona for two years and received her Bachelors degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
Karen had worked in the billing department for Nova Care in Southpointe, and had formerly worked at Beverly Nursing Home in North Strabane Township.
Mrs. Sickles was an avid bowler. She was a member of the Pennsylvania State Bowlers Association, participating in local and national events, and served on the board of directors for several area bowling leagues. Karen also enjoyed playing golf and tennis.
On October 7, 2000, she married Rodney B. Sickles who survives.
Surviving in addition to her husband and father; are two brothers, Kerry S. Jones and his wife, Valerie, of Jennersville, and Dr. Kerwyn C. Jones and his wife, Beth, of Copley, Ohio; six nephews, Barrett Jones (Holly), Dr. Brent Jones (Mary), Blake Jones (Heather), Dr. Brandon Jones (Kate), Jacob Jones and Lucas Jones; a niece, Brittany McGregor (Keegan); six great-nephews, Zachary, Charles, Theodore, Noah, Owen and Carter Jones; and two great-nieces, Ellie and Sophie Jones.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m., the time of service, Tuesday, January 11, 2022, in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner / Supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston. Interment will be private in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the charity of their choice.
