Nancy Diane Dobrzynski
Nancy Diane Dobrzynski passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 16, 2021, in UPMC Passavant Hospital.
She was born on August 14, 1943, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late James and Ellen Slyder. She was a lifelong resident of West Alexander and Claysville.
On January 5, 1962, Nancy married the love of her life Frank J. Dobrzynski who preceded her in death on March 4, 2009.
She was a graduate of the first class to graduate from McGuffey High School. She was a manager at the Claysville Petro store, and had also worked at Gashel’s Market. Nancy was a member of the West Alexander American Legion Auxiliary. She was most proud of the Dobrzynski Family Furniture store.
She enjoyed working extensive puzzles, a love she passed on to her sons and grandchildren. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play various sports, traveling with her sisters and friends, and watching the Steelers and Pirates play.
Nancy could be found at the Main Street Caf every morning with her breakfast group.
Although, she was often caught sneaking over to West Virginia to play the slot machines with her friends.
Nancy loved her loyal puppy Scooby who helped pass the time and never left her side. Nancy also adored her cat Thumper who too preceeded her.
In addition to her parents and Frank, she was also preceeded in death by her siblings Karen Whiteman (Sis), Sue Malson, Jim and Ken Slyder.
Nancy is survived by three sons, Mark, Doug, and Tim (Colleen) Dobrzynski; her beloved sister, Donna Slyder and brother, Wayne Slyder; seven grandchildren Ryan, Matt (Jordan), Mitchell (Constance), Mckenzie, Trista Sargent, Shelby, and Sidney Dobrzynski; three great-grandchildren Melia, Josie, and Walker Dobrzynski; as well as many dearly loved nieces and nephews.
At her request, arraignment were private. In her memory may all donations go to the West Alexander Legion Auxiliary.
