David W. Iams

David W. Iams, aka “smiley”, 82, of Washington, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022.

He was born July 5, 1939, in Washington. He was the son of Orville and Eleanore Iams.

He was employed by Penn Dot for 32 years and was a volunteer fireman for South Strabane #1. He was an avid Steeler and Nascar fan.

He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Horse & Mule Association and the Marianna Outdoorsman Association. He was a life member of the NRA.

David was a family man an enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his brother, Bob (Dani) Iams; sister-in-law, Ilene (Don-deceased) Iams; and children, Dawna Ransil, Cheryl (Ron) Wise, David Iams, Kimberly Smith and Scott (Cindy) Iams; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral arrangements handled by Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, in Forest Lawn Garden, McMurray.
