Willard “Dee” Curry, “Little Duke”, 59, of Lone Pine, died Tuesday, January 11, 2022, in his home.

He was born in Washington, on November 5, 1962, a son of the late Willard G. Curry and Shirley Williams Curry of Lone Pine.

He was a 1980 graduate of Trinity High School, and then went on to Vale Technical College.

In 1982 he started working as a mechanic at Humpreys Auto Repair, and stayed at the same location when it became Beards in Washington and never left.

He was a member of Lone Pine Christian Church, member and volunteer of the Wounded Warriors Foundation, Anawana Club member, enjoyed hunting and target shooting as well as spending time with family, friends, his dog Khai and cat Ozzie.

“Little Duke” was an avid Steeler fan who loved to cook. He was a true people person who would help anyone, and had a true passion of mechanics since he was a child.

Surviving in addition to his mother, are a sister Lori, and husband William Courson; and a niece, Emily Keller.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, in the Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington, where funeral services will be held with visitation at 10 a.m. followed with services at 11 a.m. on Monday January 17, 2022. Interment will follow in Lone Pine Cemetery.

The family asks for anyone attending to please wear masks.
